Kristin L. Schmid is a shareholder with the firm. Ms. Schmid earned her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law specializing in Corporate Law, and has earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Pennsylvania where she majored in Political Science and Economics. Ms. Schmid earned her Masters of Law (LL.M.) in Taxation from New York University School of Law. She is a member of the Bar of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey. Ms. Schmid is also a member of the American Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association, Pennsylvania State Bar Association, as well as the Camden County Bar Associations. Ms. Schmid currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Camden County Bar Foundation. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Schmid was a Senior Tax Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP where she specialized in mergers and acquisitions and international tax. While at PwC, Ms. Schmid handled the Federal tax implications of complex merger and acquisition transactions involving Fortune 500 corporations. Her experience includes spin-offs, carve outs, liquidations, taxable transactions, and non-recognition transactions. Ms. Schmid’s practice areas include corporate tax, business transactions, real estate, and international tax.
Daniel L. Mellor, JD, LLM. Firm attorney from Kulzer & DiPadova Mr. Mellor is a shareholder with the firm. Mr. Mellor’s practice focuses on small business taxation, estate planning and administration, and probate litigation. He has written and lectured extensively on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA), specifically the I.R.C. Section 199A deduction for Qualified Business Income (QBI), which will greatly impact professional service, real estate, and other passthrough businesses. Mr. Mellor regularly helps clients qualify for and maximize their benefits under the new law. After completing his undergraduate education at the College of William & Mary, Mr. Mellor earned his J.D. at the George Mason University School of Law in Arlington, VA. Mr. Mellor continued his education at the Temple University Beasley School of Law where he received a Master of Laws (LL.M.) in Taxation, as well as a Certificate in Estate Planning, in 2010. Mr. Mellor speaks regularly before the New Jersey Society of CPAs on federal tax topics, lately focusing on the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Previously, he wrote and spoke extensively on the “tangible property regulations”. Mr. Mellor has been published in Tax Notes on the I.R.C. Section 199A deduction and the Affordable Care Act’s individual mandate. In 2013 and again in 2017, Mr. Mellor was named a New Jersey Super Lawyers Rising Star. In 2015, 2016 and 2018 he was named a Top Attorney in Taxation by SJ Magazine. Mr. Mellor is a member of the Bar of the State of New Jersey, the State of New York and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He is also a member of the American Bar Association, New Jersey State Bar Association, New York State Bar Association, as well as the Camden, Burlington and Mercer County Bar Associations. Mr. Mellor currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Camden County Bar Association.
