Our Mission
The New Jersey Association of Public Accountants was formed to elevate and
maintain a high standard of proficiency and integrity; to promote and protect
the interests of the consuming public; to cultivate a spirit of professional
cooperation amongst its members; to establish good will and understanding
between the public and the accounting profession throughout the State of New
Jersey.
Our History
The New Jersey Association of Public Accountants was founded in 1947
by a group of dedicated accountants. They recognized the value of
self-discipline and the need for an effective Code of Ethics and Rules of
Professional Conduct to guide a growing and important profession.
Since its inception, the Association's reliance and influence in New Jersey has
achieved major growth and prestige as a result of the dedicated focus on
helping the practitioner. These successful results are due to the educational
programs at the local and state levels, promoting the competency and
reliability of the practitioner to the public, and strict adherence to the Code
of Ethics.
Our Association consists of eight chapters located throughout the state. It is
governed by a Board of Trustees who are elected by their peers at the chapter
level. They each serve a three-year term as a Trustee of the State Association.
These chapters are conveniently located in the following counties:
-
Atlantic, Cape May and Burlington East
-
